1. As I recall, when I was in grade school, quarterly my parent pay visit in my class to get my report card and to attend the PTA meeting. I asked my mom why. I guess the linkage between the school and the association is very important because it where minds meet. Not only to know the status of the child inside the class but they have to discuss things on what they should do in order to improve the facilities of the school, improve the transmittal of knowledge on students, the camaraderie among parents and teachers, and promoting social and political integration.
ReplyDelete2. Since I was a product of a public school when I was in grade school, the medals I received during my recognition day has something written at the back, ‘donated by’. I asked my mom why those medals were donated by the councilor or mayor in our community, is it expensive and my teachers cannot afford to buy it? I guess the answer for this question is that my former school might have developed a very good relationship with the town’s officials and at the same time these officials are donating some rewards like these for us students to be more productive for if we are successful and be known, along with our names tags where we came from. The same reason why some organizations are donating some instructional paraphernalia. They want the student of today to be literate and at the same time the good deeds of their organization will be well known through the words of the recipient.
3. If given the chance, I would like to have a school that focuses on the 3Rs. This would cater the needs of those unfortunate people in the community who missed the chance to be in school and were not able to read, write, and do simple arithmetic. This special school will be free of charge and I will ask the assistance of the municipality to allow this project for the benefit of the community.
4. University consortium is extremely important. It is like a fellowship and these universities are aiming to have sound relationship among others. Like for example, the UAAP. In this annual event, universities compete not to literally compete but to develop students who have the potentials in sports. They aim to bring closer each university so that in the long run the camaraderie will strengthen.
5. Part of the teachers’ education is the in-service education. Based on my opinion, in-service education is the type of education which uplifts the competency of a teacher. I think that networking with professional organizations will help the educators improve their knowledge and skills through them.
1) The importance of linkage between an association and the school is that, an association is dedicated to the advancement of the knowledge, theory, and quality of learning and teaching at all levels of the school and at different subjects (i.e. Social Studies, Information Technology, etc.). It is also committed in promoting excellence and innovation in Science Teaching among others. It is the same with other organizations or associations. In addition, Parent Teacher’s Association can help parents be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of their child while the teachers can become aware of the areas that need improvement with regards to their teaching. It helped the teachers and the schools improve their skills and improve the quality of education respectively. Moreover, the school helped the association raise funds for the improvement not just of the organization but of the school as well. Therefore, both the school and an association can benefit from each other since one cannot stand alone by itself.

(a) Donation of scholarships through raising funds such as Concerts, Beauty Contests, Sports Tournament and others which the community can promote so that, even people outside the school can participate and therefore increase the money needed for scholarships to students who are intelligent but cannot afford the money needed for their education.
(b) Donation of instructional materials will also be done by the community if the school has good public relations with the community. The community might even extend help through Teacher’s Organizations and other non-sectarian organizations such as Rotary and others – depending on the city that the school is built (e.g. Toast Masters, T.V. Networks and others) - which will be of great help with the development of the curriculum of the school.
3) If I have the chance to organize a group, I would help a school to provide books for students which are for free especially those who cannot afford. We will have as many posters as possible and have an announcement for donation of books for a certain school. As for the community, we will promote sports through sports fest so that the out-of-school youth can do something worthwhile to their time instead of doing drugs. We will get the funds through donation by people in the community and tell them through the Barangay Captains that the funds will go to the out-of-school youth. Moreover, we can write to famous sportsmen if they can donate any amount for these youth so that the more money we collect, the more we can do something about it such as building gyms or training men who can coach boys or girls with potential in sports.
4) Consortium is important among universities because it represents the combined resources of the Capital region’s best academic institutions. All universities will benefit from each other especially libraries if they have consortium because not all resources are available to just one university.
5) The importance on teachers of networking with professional organizations is that the teachers will be able to widen their knowledge especially on their field of expertise because of continuous education. There will be lots of seminars, workshops, exchanges of ideas from other colleagues, and observation from other teachers which will be of great help on their teaching profession. Teachers who are really expert on their fields can even publish a book especially if they are equipped enough to discuss the subject matter in detail.
It is important to have a linkage between the school and association because they will both benefit from each other. School and associations and vice versa can exchage information on what and how can they both help each other for their advancement simultaneously. They can also be employed by that particular organizations, they can finance the school, tell them what are their particular necessary skill that they need from students, then the school will respond to the associations' demands, thereby producing well suited graduates for the associations.

3. I will form teacher's group who will not only teach in the school but will also extend their teaching skills to the community as volunteer teachers. I will concentrate on K-6th grade if possible because this is the formative years and i will also give emphasis on instilling proper values because as Roosevelt said "To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society".
I will also form a group that will be responsible for the clean and green project in this way investors will be more attracted to establish business around the school, it will bring jobs to the community, in return, having more establishments around the vicinity of the school it will be lighted and these establishments will also be part of clean and green goal of our group. I will see to it, that they will really be part of this clean and green and safety goal for the school and the community as well, and our group will try our best to give student's and faculty discounts for their goods and services.
4. Through consortium among universities, they will be able to pool their resources. Example, if one school lacks book, internet access, they will be able to have that resources near around their school, therefore it will be not difficult for the students and faculty to do their homework or tasks and one thing more, they do not have to wait for funds which may take too long before they can have access to the facility or books they need.
5. Through networking with professional organizations, teacher will be able to enhance their skills and knowlede coming from the respected and credible professionals. They will grow more in their career and their minds will be more expose or open to new challenging and up-to-date ideas on their career which is reform, empowerment and improvement on them.
Being part of the network, it will also bring them prestige and credibility on their profession and they will be more adept and their esteem/confidence or self trust to perform their tasks will highly improve.
School and an association are important because it will strengthen the ties between the student, the teacher and the parents. It will help in understanding the needs and wants of the people involved.
ReplyDeleteI think if a school doesn’t have PTA meetings, the parents will just go to the teachers and say what they want. I think one of the benefits of PTA is the ability of the parents to agree or disagree on some decisions regarding school’s activities. This will aware the teacher as well as the parents on what is good for the students.

4. Consortium is important to help the others. What one school lacks definitely the others will have. So it helps equip the students as well as the teachers. And I think also it will develop camaraderie between the governing body of the schools and the students involved.

ReplyDelete1.Linkage between the school and an association is important, in a sense that the school can benefit from the association's different functions like internship. Thru internship, students will be exposed to actual situations and giving them the opportunity to apply their knowledge in the real work setting. This will help promote the educational system. Companies on the other hand, can see potential employees.
ReplyDelete2. Although there are public schools that provides free education, there are still some who can't afford to study because of the other expenses like books, allowance, etc.. Scholarship provides help to the needy but deserving students. Different organizations ( government and non-government ) assists in giving scholarships ( e.g. Children International, Tuloy Foundation, World Vision, to name a few ).More often than not, the products of these scholarship programs turned out to be successful people. Most of them pay forward by sponsoring children or by giving back to the school and community by providing their professional skills.
Just like scholarships, certain organizations aids in giving instructional materials which would greatly benefit the school since it would allow the students to have the quality education that they deserve.
3. Schools play an important role in social cohesion. So if I have the opportunity I will establish a group that encourage activities that will get the school involved in improving the community like literacy program, livelihood and leadership training. This I think would help strengthen the connection between the neighborhood and school.

1. Today’s schools have realized the importance recognizing students needs. They must have strong relationship with the association which will help the school to address the growing needs of the student. For instance department of psychology note that their student needs to have exposure in a mental hospital to strength their knowledge about mental hygiene. The institute department will join the mental health association as they believe that they can help them to provide their students a valuable exposure in mental health care institution. In return to the association they can do advocacy in providing knowledge about mental hygiene or mental health. I remember when I was in college that our school wants to join in PAPJA which they believe that this association will provide to us a seminar and lecture in line in our curriculum. Internship is another example of mutual benefits for school and organization. For the student, they can have actual exposure in a workplace as for the association has the opportunity to have fresh new member and help them to attain their goal. Aside from this professional association there is also some social association who can help the student to be a productive member of the society. Some NGO help the student to be aware on the current issues of the society like right now that there is upcoming national election and we can found several organization that help the student who is eligible to vote to educate them on choosing right leader and be aware on the current national issues. In return they are expected to be responsible voter and help them to guard the result of the entire election.

There is a data posted in the news telling that there is a high increase of enrollment in a public school compare to private school. Our government always welcomes those who are willing to support their agenda to give free education. There lots of NGO who provide scholarships for the out of school youth.
2.B. Instructional materials are very important in learning. Some of our school especially in public school is heavily rely on the text book as their medium. I believe modern instructional materials will increase the learning outcome of the student. Unfortunately some public school is shorthanded to these instructional materials. Same as what I have mention earlier that they always welcome a organization who can provide instructional materials to them but before that the organization should coordinate to the school principal or administration to discuss what kind of instructional materials to they need. They must determine the existing resources of the school and their readiness for these materials for example organization AB would like to help the school to improve the instructional material. They propose to donate several brand new computers/laptops and projector where the student and teacher can use inside the classroom. But the teacher do not know how to operate the laptop and the projector and most of the teacher prefer to use textbook and manila paper as their medium. The donation will be useless, waste of money and waste of opportunity to modernize their teaching strategy. To avoid this, the organization must talk to the principal or head of administration and extend their intention to provide the school a better instructional material. They will to discuss what kind of help they need and create a project which they have a common goal.
3. If have enough funds I would like to have a drug free info drive for the youth and also a leadership program for them. I also like the suggestion of my classmate but just for a change I want to see these children who can lead us to have better Philippine education system. I can’t present right now the concrete plan on how this will work but my vision is that today’s youth should be aware on the current issues regarding our Philippine Education System. They should learn to be initiative to demand a quality education. I just want to make clear that it’s not like that they have to go outside the street and have the protest against the government.
ReplyDelete4. Sometimes school can’t provide all needs of the student, this is the reason they have a strong partnership with other university. For example in the library service they can’t have all resources for the student which why there is a referral program that school library can refer their student to other university library where they can find their need like books, thesis, cross catalog etc. Beside academics, school organizes a social activity for their student like prom night. For girl exclusive school they can have a partnership to the other boy’s exclusive school and create a joint activity just like prom night or leadership training program.
5. This professional organization is the extension arm of the teacher wherein they can provide a valuable learning experience that can’t be found inside the four corner of the classroom. Aside from the seminar prepared by this professional organization they can also let the student have an orientation on the actual workplace wherein they can have internship or simulation of an actual workplace. I remember this phrase “learning by doing” which this professional organization has a lot to offer for the student.
