  1. I always believe that teacher should understand the needs of their student. Probably I got influence by B. F. Skinner’s school of thoughts. My education philosophy is behaviorism. As behaviorist my main concerned is how I can provide favorable learning environment to the student. They believe that students are the product of the environment. In addition to favorable environment, proper reinforcement is important in shaping student’s behavior. Using this technique can eliminate negative behavior that could block the fullest learning potential of the student.

  2. My philosophy of education is not only learning through books but also through experiences. You let your students feel what you are teaching. You let them know that you know what are you talking about. Let them know that you are there not because you are being paid but you care for them and you love your profession. That you are there to encourage them and show them that education is not only attained in the four walls of a classroom.

  3. My philosophy of teaching is not just getting a job or having a high paid salary but you must consider the need of your student if your helping them to learned what you teach and you must have the mastery of the lesson so that your student will remember what you've teach them.also you must help your student to love the lesson and you must help them understand the thing that they need to know from you

  4. My philosophy of education is that it is not only an academic thing, it also involves emotional, social and physical aspects. Educators should try it's best to see the student in their other aspect to facilitate a more solid foundation or deeper effective ways in educating their students. Education should be accessible to all, there should be an equal opportunity, rich or poor, male or female, young and old, it should be a right not a priviledge, afterall the economic fate of our future is dependent on the number of literate people, hence the high literacy rate means progress and survival of the country amidst different catastrophies of what the country is facing.

My philosophy of education is that it should have a pleasant atmosphere where feelings and views must be respected in order to empower the student and motivate them to learn and express themselves.

Education should also try to use the multiple intelligence of the learner (cause all individuals are unique, they have different ways of exhibiting their minds) by not merely focusing on written expression of their inteligence. It should have some basic positive principle like guiding and nurturing the students to be future achievers.

Education should be hands on, not only theoretical base, learners should experience what their teachers are discussing in the subject matter. And lastly education should be interactive, it is not only the teacher who should speak in the class, she should sometimes be a facilitator, the students must also have time to speak their minds, afterall teachers are not there because they know everything, students have experiences which is so related to the topic and that he can give a first hand information to others as well as to his teacher.

  5. I think I am progressivist type of educator. I want to respond on the needs of the student for them to develop their potential qualities. I also want them to think critically so that what they learned in class will be applied on solving problems and in real life situations. I want them to experience what they learned because they will not forget it even when they grow old.

  6. The aim of education has always been to equip a person to become a prolific member of society, that is why my philosophy of education is more focused on the learner. As much as possible I want to develop my student's abilities/potentials, meet their needs, and explore their interests. I also want to create a learning environment wherein they could easily express themselves, but still being considerate of others feelings.

  7. My philosophy of teaching is not just to impart knowledge but to let them know how it is related to their lives. I have always believed that a teacher or any person in that matter does not know everything and I humbly say that I can learn from my students whether they are children, adolescents, or adults. I have always pointed-out the 70% talking from students while 30% from teachers, it is because the children will learn by experiencing. As what Sir Joel said - as far as I can remember, if I am not mistaken - it is 90% comprehension rather than 5% by just listening. In addition, as a teacher, you share a part of you to the students (i.e. knowledge, being a role model, a good friend). That for me is the essence of being a teacher.

  8. Critique on "Monalisa Smile"

    hydia
The movie depicted a passionate professor, who is eager to let the student learn what is beyond to learn in school. It is an ideal style, making alternatives, going beyond textbooks and the like. Allowing students to go out of the classroom to take a close look into their subject matter and not just simple slides.Compiling works of not just the work of what the world consider to be masterpieces of world re knowned artist. Integrating commercial arts which is part of everyday living. For me it is one way of instilling into the minds of students that art is everywhere, you don't have to be infamous to call it an artwork.

Her teachig style has a heart, regaining focus amidst criticisms, which is important to be effective educator. Looking at the student's profile seems to me that she is concerned on the totality of the student not just on the subject matter she is in charge, looking at the other aspects.

Although i believed that her teaching style, shows passion towards her profession which our society needs, it may also be detrimental on the other hand. She must learn how to control the outburst of emotion towards the superiors, colleagues and students. She must learn to draw boundaries in a professional and personal manner. She must bear in mind that she is an educator who has limitations. She can only guide, lead or be a model to students and not to impose her vision, mission, values and goals to students. Because wherever she goes there are policies to follow, even establishing her own school, because certain rules are mandated and governed by law.

  9. Monalisa Smile Critique

Katherine Ann Watson (Roberts) portray a non-traditional woman and teacher who has passion not just in teaching arts but also in reaching the full potential of her students from the society who dictated them how to think and live. Although the probability of having students read the whole book, as the story incorporates it, is very little though it is possible.

I think the set-up of the class is very ideal and the time, which was in the 1950’s because they needed a person and a teacher like Watson who would open-up the eyes of her students who are - by the way - all women, who are just waiting for the right guy to marry them. Watson made strategies that will make her students think out-of-the-box - not just what is written on the books and what is accepted in the society but also to think of what they really want out of life. She somehow corrected it by setting an example and integrating syllabus which is not written in the curriculum. She is very intelligent that she was able to adapt to changes as she was starting her career in whole new environment. I like her style and way of teaching although I differ on the way she handled her love-life. From the first time I saw the older man and her co-teacher, I saw who is most sincere and who is willing to do everything for her. Maybe she has her reasons but when nobody was there to understand her, that guy that she turned down to, was there. Maybe he is not the hunk-type-of-man but his inner being is so beautiful that I cannot understand Watson’s reasons behind it. Maybe she was not ready for marriage yet.

All in all the movie is an eye-opener to women not just on those times but up to the present time. The wife-mother style is still happening especially in the province and the movie will somehow make them aware that they can still have jobs while being a wife and a mother all at the same time.
